  • Excellent chemical and moisture resistance
  • Self-assembly option

Tapeswitches are a unique range of 'press-at-any-point' electrical switches which can be supplied in a variety of custom sizes and specifications to suit a host of applications. Tapeswitch technology is based on a proven switching principle that comprises a continuous length of normally open switch. The switch is made up of two copper-plated steel conductors held apart at the sides by an insulating strip. When pressure is applied at any point along the length, the two conductors are forced together in the centre, closing the switch.

Tapeswitches are the essence of simplicity and reliability and are adaptable to an endless range of applications. A wide range of colours, switch lengths and sensitivities make Tapeswitches extremely versatile. All models have excellent chemical and moisture resistance and a design life of millions of operations at any point.

Typical Applications: entrance signalling, panic alarm, seat switches, vehicle crash testing

101B
131a.GIF (747 bytes)

101B is designed typically for finger operation and can be bent around tightly curved corners. It can be supplied with a sleeve end (lower profile) or alternatively with a block end (101BMT).

Material: PVC
Colour: Black or yellow
Actuating force: <5N (0.5Kg) with 20mm dia. test piece
Weight: 75g/m
Dimensions: 19mm (W) x 4.7mm (H)

121BP
121bp.GIF (370 bytes)

121BP is a very sensitive switch which can be operated directly but more commonly is integrated for indirect operation e.g. as an interlock inside a seat.

Material: PVC
Colour: Green
Actuating force: <2N (0.2Kg) with 20mm dia. test piece
Weight: 65g/m
Dimensions: 14.2mm (W) x 3.8mm (H)

141BPH
141bph.GIF (689 bytes)

141BPH is a very sensitive switch with a high bead for increased operating angle. Where the application allows, it can be used as a leading edge safety switch.

Material: PVC
Colour: White or red
Actuation force: <4N (0.4Kg) with 20mm dia. test piece
Weight: 65g/m
Dimensions: 14.2mm (W) x 6.8mm (H)

TS3
ts3.GIF (894 bytes)

TS3 is a low profile contoured switch which can bent around smoothly curved corners. It is commonly used as a hand or foot activated machine stop/start device and fits into 104 channel if required.

Material: PVC
Colour: Black, red or yellow
Actuation force: <15N (1.5Kg) with 20mm dia. test piece
Weight: 120g/m
Dimensions: 14.2mm (W) x 8.4mm (H)

180
180.GIF (370 bytes)

180 is a snap action switch which operates when bent or pressed. It is typically used as a paddle switch or limit switch and can be mounted in a special bracket to give a 182 switch.

Material: PVC
Colour: Red
Actuation force: <12 degrees bends
Weight: 65g/m
Dimensions: 14.2mm (W) x 3.8mm (H)

191S
191s.GIF (487 bytes)

191S is a switch with stainless steel conductors which means that it is suited to applications where the switch is submerged in water. It is regularly used in sports timing pads in swimming events.

Material: PVC
Colour: Beige
Actuation force: <5N (0.5Kg) with 20mm dia. test piece
Weight: 50g/m
Dimensions: 14.2mm (W) x 5mm (H)

151BBW
151bbw.GIF (242 bytes)

151BBW is a low profile, beadless switch which is highly sensitive and has been designed predominantly for window security applications.
